We have a temporary opportunity for an experienced ecologist to expand their skills by joining our ecology team based in Cambridge. The roles will generally be: · to provide technical support to other members of staff;
· to liaise with other ecologists throughout the company to provide a consistent and integrated service to clients; · to continue to develop technical skills. The majority of work is likely to be regional in East Anglia. There will be technical collaboration and networking, with the more than 60 ecologists working within the company around the UK. At all levels our ecologists are committed to providing specialist advice, protected species assessment, habitat management in connection with infrastructure projects, site restoration and rehabilitation, specialist services for planning applications and environmental impact assessments. We also provide an expert witness service in support of public enquiries, appeals and tribunals.
Successful candidates will ideally have: A degree in a relevant discipline, Appropriate post qualification experience as an Ecologist, with appropriate technical and managerial experience An understanding of the role of consultants within the commercial sector Have undertaken Phase 1 habitat survey and protected species survey capability Ideally have a survey licence for one or more protected species specifically for great crested newt Ideally have had experience of designing and implementing simple ecological mitigation schemes Have experience in writing technical reports
