We are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced individual to proactively accelerate progress towards making Bristol a sustainable, carbon neutral and climate resilient city. This will be done by leading, co-ordinating, initiating and delivering a programme of work to restore nature in response to the ecological emergency.

This role will involve taking a strategic and systemic approach to co-ordinate activities of colleagues across the wider council, and in partnership with public, private, community and voluntary sector organisations particularly those working in the natural environment area. Particularly close working relationships will be expected with Bristol City Council colleagues working on nature conservation, biodiversity net gain and climate resilience.

The Ecological Emergency Co-Ordinator will be part of the Sustainable City Team, within the Sustainable City & Climate Change Service. This role would suit a professional with experience of working on the natural environment, ecology and/or green infrastructure.

You will contribute positively to the City Council’s corporate efforts to promote and increase biodiversity, an ecological recovery and green infrastructure for the benefit of people, nature and prosperity of the city.

A key part of the role will be to co-ordinate delivery of the Bristol City Ecological Emergency Action Plan and contribute to Bristol's One City Ecological Emergency Strategy.
