Due to our expanding portfolio of projects we are looking to grow our ecological team in Scotland.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to join our Planning & Environment team in Scotland. The role will largely be site-based, working on significant infrastructure or renewables construction projects across Central and Northern Scotland. Flexibility in your location may be required. We are also interested to hear from more junior individuals or recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career as an ECoW.

This is an interesting and challenging role, involving detailed ecological surveys, protected species licencing and reporting.

For the experienced ECoW role we are looking for an individual with the following attributes:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or significant on the job experience;
  • Experience of applying ecological principles to construction projects and working knowledge of surveying and reporting;
  • Competence in survey and mitigation design for protected species;
  • At least 5 years’ experience working on large construction sites and producing professional environmental reports;
  • Good knowledge of Scottish environmental law;
  • Competency with standard MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (GIS skills desirable); and,
  • An assertive personality and ability to work in high-pressured situations.
