Description: Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki requires a Nature Guide for the summer season, starting 1st of November through to March. The Lodge is based next to Lake Moeraki, 30km north of Haast on the West Coast of the South Island. It is a 28 bedroom 4 star Eco Lodge with a mainly international clientele offering stylish accommodation, fine dining and a range of guided activities.
The role involves working with the Manager/Head Guide to deliver a range of guided activities including kayaking and walking. In addition, maintenance of both the grounds and guiding equipment as well as developing your knowledge on the local plants and animals will be key to your role.
The Lodge has a number of conservation concessions and programmes in place and you will be expected to maintain and promote these in line with our Wilderness Lodge philosophy.
If you have experience in nature guiding and/or nature interpreting and are flexible, hard working, keen to develop your knowledge and are practical we would like to hear from you. Kayaking qualifications and experience is preferable but not essential. However, some knowledge of New Zealand geology, geography, plants and animals is essential.
