Ecolabel Account Manager (EAM) - Scandinavia & Baltic Sea RegionIntroductionMSC operates a global fisheries certification and ecolabelling programme. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries and through the leadership of our partners, create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12% of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 100 countries. Information on the roleThe Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a groundbreaking non-profit organisation dedicated to safeguarding the world’s seafood supply by awarding a blue ecolabel, on over 23,000 products from sustainable fisheries. The use of the MSC’s ecolabel is strictly regulated by a number of policies and standards administered by this position. Conducted by the MSC’s trading arm, the Marine Stewardship Council International (MSCI) which also has the task of collecting royalty payments from users of the MSC’s trademarks. MSCI has experienced sustained growth across the globe. The Ecolabel Account Manager (EAM) shall be responsible for processing requests for use of the MSC ecolabel for countries situated around the Baltic Sea region, they include Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Finland, Poland, Russia and other accounts when required. The post holder shall be a member of the MSCI Team and will report to the MSCI Licensing Team Manager. The EAM will be working closely with the commercial staff in the regional offices, communicating with them as required to discuss licensing issues as well as commercial issues impacting upon licensing. It will also involve building relationships with customers and some travel will be necessary. The procedures and policies around licensing the use of the ecolabel should be well recorded and updated when necessary. This can mean some policy work involving collaboration (within the licensing team and cross-departmental), the writing of and communicating the policies effectively, internally and externally.
