Background:The Eco-Schools programme provides a simple framework to enable schools to analyse their operations and become more sustainable. Pupil involvement is key to Eco-Schools and their involvement leads to genuine ownership of the programme and an increase in their sense of responsibility for the school environment and local area. The Eco-Schools programme delivers volunteering programmes for HSBC and Homebase alongside a partnership with EDF Energy and their educational programme the Pod. The Pod is an interactive on-line resource for teachers of children at Key Stages 2 and 3. It sits at the heart of EDF Energy’s Programme for Greener Schools. To support schools in becoming sustainable Eco-Schools have also developed a range of services to schools including Solar Panels Green Cleaning Products and Energy solutions. The post is subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check. Objective:Support the delivery of the Eco-School programme. Work on current and new partnerships that help embed sustainability within schools across England.
