Description

The use of sustainable development as a value proposition in business strategy is on the rise.  BASF is a global leader in sustainable development and has won several awards for its work, including being recognized for the last two years as the most sustainable company in Europe and being named the leading chemical company on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. This position is part of a job family and the specific placement will be commensurate with the selected candidate's level of experience.
 
Principle responsibilities include:
  • Design, conduct and present sustainable development studies, such as Eco-Efficiency Analysis (EEA) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for BASF Corporation Construction Chemicals businesses
  • Present the results of studies to business management, technical groups and customers in order to capitalize on business opportunities related to the products being evaluated
  • Provide strategic support to N-EBN businesses and customers in the development and evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Work with customers to develop marketing and communication strategies focused on sustainability
  • Maintain expertise in lifecycle analysis, EEA and TCO
  • Participate as a member of the North America regional expertise center and the BASF global sustainability community

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in basic science or engineering - advanced degree a plus
  • General knowledge of chemistry required 
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management experience
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint 
  • Training at BASF SE Ludwigshafen required (two months)
  • Commercial experience preferred
