Organizational Overview

Southface Energy Institute, a nonprofit environmental organization that promotes sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance seeks a Residential Green Building Services Home Services Project Manager.  A desire to make a difference and passion for the environment are a plus. Responsibilities: The Home Services Project Manager will manage the home services project.  Employee will field questions and deliver technical services to those interested in Southface’s services, EarthCraft House builders, program participants and donors.  This will be accomplished primarily through the following:  

  • Perform HERS ratings and Manual-J load calculations
  • Educate potential clients about Southface’s services, membership, programs and high performance building
  • Work with team to prioritize jobs and ensure timely completion and invoicing
  • Answer technical questions regarding green/high performance residential building
  • Maintain a database of technical services and referrals to other Southface programs
  • Assist with Southface’s LEED for Homes Providership duties
  • Assist with various tasks and programs supporting the Residential Green Building Services Team
 Qualifications: The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:  
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to staff and general public in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Ability to listen to and interact with a diverse group of people
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and respond to varied requests
  • Motivated by problem solving and attention to detail
  • Experience in data management and reporting
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.  Some training experience desirable
  • Team oriented
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Familiarity with HERS ratings, ENERGY STAR and Manual-J desirable

 Specific training will be provided for building science, program criteria and inspections. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move around in attics and crawl spaces
  • Ability carry 25-35 pounds
  • Ability to move up and down ladders sometimes to heights of 25 feet
  • Normal office setting
 Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise clients from initial contact through project delivery
 HOURS OF WORKMonday through Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM with some flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.    Salary range -  $24,000 to $28,000 dependent upon experience.Southface is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
