The ECF is recruiting a full-time Due diligence & Evaluation Manager. This person will be responsible for all aspects of due diligence of ECF key grantees, as well as for maintaining and improving the ECF programmatic evaluation framework. The person will report directly to the COO.
The specific duties and responsibilities include:
1. Due diligence of key grantees
• Develop the ECF key grantees due diligence process with the support of some ECF core donors and the ECF COO
• Assess the viability of the key grantees as well as develop controls to safeguard ECF and donors investment from both a programmatic and a financial basis.
• Review yearly budget and financial reporting from key grantees
• Principal lead with auditors, banks, financial institutions, external accountants, advisors, and other stakeholders linked to key grantees.
2. Maintaining and improving the ECF programmatic evaluation framework
• Coordinate and support the ECF programmes in their periodical assessment of grants, activities and initiatives according to the current ECF evaluation framework
• Participate in the development of a shared evaluation framework with other organizations from the CW Network.
3. Yearly assessment of key grantees
• Coordinate the yearly programmatic assessment of key grantees based on results coming out of their grant assessment.
• Deliver yearly a complete picture of key grantee assessment by combining results coming from both due diligence and programmatic assessment.
Qualifications
Required:
• Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or other relevant area
• 4-8 years professional experience in due diligence of organizations, preferably in an international organisation or a private foundation
• Experience in programme and project assessment
• Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the ECF
• Analytical mind and strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise diverse tasks
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
• Fluency in English
Preferable:
• Experience with grant management systems and financial management information systems is an advantage
• Experience in policy advocacy assessment is a definite advantage
• Confortable in working with professional softwares and database applications
• Excellent team player qualities, enthusiastic personality, a sense of humour, and results-orientation
Location: Brussels, Belgium or The Hague, The Netherlands.
