This is a full-time two-year fixed term position with the option to extend to three years

As the largest animal welfare charity in the world, the breadth of our work is huge, both at home and abroad, from education in schools, lobbying and campaigning, to wildlife projects, from nursing and rehoming abused and unwanted animals, to shaping, influencing and enforcing legislation. We are working towards a world in which all humans respect and live in harmony with all animals.

We are now seeking an experienced individual to manage a programme of work to improve the welfare of commercially farmed duck, including management of external research and campaigning to encourage the adoption of improved methods by the industry.

Responsibilities to include:

  • managing external research and campaigning to encourage the adoption of improved methods by the industry.
  • working constructively with retail, charity trust and research stakeholders.
  • maintaining and enhancing outline and detailed programme plans.
  • monitoring progress of project specifications, budget and timescales.
  • providing advice and guidance to internal contacts.
  • preparing internal and external reports.

You will have a degree or equivalent qualification
* Extensive project management experience, both detailed and strategic * Be able to prepare and implement budgets * Be able to influence, persuade and negotiate at high level (both externally and internally) * Have excellent verbal and written communication skills * Be prepared to travel within England and Wales and potentially overseas.
