DRAGONSCAPES Species Officer and Habitat Officer – Big Lottery Fund fundedType: 3 year contracts, Full Time ARC has secured funding for two posts, based in South Wales, to mange aspects of the Big Lottery Fund funded project Dragonscapes: Reuniting Communities and Habitats in South Wales. The project aims to re-engage the people of South Wales with the natural environment, providing them with opportunities to make a positive difference to the declining wildlife on their doorstep. These new experiences will encourage outdoor exercise, improve mental wellbeing and provide skills to help communities to live healthier happier lives in harmony with the natural world. This will include amphibian and reptile surveying/monitoring, improving their local patch for wildlife and working with nature to grow food for communities. We are looking for two individuals with substantial experience of conserving and monitoring amphibians and reptiles, of managing their habitats, and of community food growing. Nod y prosiect yw ailgysylltu pobl De Cymru â’r amgylchedd naturiol, gan roi cyfle iddynt wneud gwahaniaeth cadarnhaol i fyd natur ar garreg eu drws. Bydd y profiadau newydd hyn yn annog ymarfer corff yn yr awyr agored, yn gwella lles meddyliol ac yn darparu sgiliau i helpu pobl i fyw bywydau iachach a hapusach yn eu cymunedau mewn undod â natur. Bydd hyn yn cynnwys arolygu/monitro amffibiaid ac ymlusgiaid, gwella’u hardal leol ar gyfer bywyd gwyllt a gweithio gyda natur i dyfu bwyd i gymunedau.
