ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Donor Stewardship and Events Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of cultivation tactics and donor stewardship and recognition programs for the New Jersey Chapter. The primary objective of this position is to enhance the engagement of existing and prospective donors in order to increase their major giving to the Conservancy. The position will have responsibility for scheduling, organizing and coordinating donor engagement events in concert with the fundraising team.

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Work with fundraisers to use strategic events and cultivation tactics to strengthen the prospect pipeline for increased major support of New Jersey and global TNC priorities.  Plan and implement small and large fund-raising and “friend-raising” events/lunches/other activities, personal correspondence such as birthday greetings and congratulatory wishes, small donor gifts such as framed photos, plaques, books etc.  Supervise/involve event volunteers as needed.   
  • The Donor Stewardship and Events Coordinator will work with front-line to ensure that managed donor stewardship plans are designed and completed.  Execute/arrange engagement actions such as written template reports on New Jersey or out-of state TNC programs, personal meetings with leadership staff or field experiences.   Will proactively utilize the resources of the broader organization. 
  • Work with chapter leadership to design and implement a consistent and inspiring program of recognition for major contributors.
  • Utilize donor database and other technology to track invitations, attendance, RSVPS, table/seating arrangements.  Access database for information to create briefs on attendees for leadership and conservation staff.  The Donor Stewardship and Events Coordinator will also be cross-trained on queries and reports from the donor database. 
  • Ability to develop, track and work within an event expense budget; ability to engage and manage vendors.
