Divisional Manager - Carbon Management

Duties: The Project Officer will report to the GAP Manager who is responsible for the project

Our client is a global leader in the field of Carbon Management & Carbon Finance & currently seeking to identify a Department Manager for Carbon Management & Finance

Our client’s geographical coverage is currently theMiddle East,AfricaandAsia, while from an Industrial perspective the focus is  on oil, gas and power primarily. Currently CDM project portfolio includes a mix of projects focusing on gas flaring reduction, gas leakage reduction, combined heat and power, industrial CO2 recovery and solar power.

They have a clear interest to  invest in carbon abatement projects across the globe, yet with a focus currently on the regions mentioned above. They currently develops, finances and implement projects across the geographical mandate with a special focus on Petrochemical/Oil/Gas & Power Generation related project. The emission reductions from these projects will be monetised in the form of carbon credits and traded under the CDM or other applicable measures

As a Divisional Manager you will spearhead & have the responsibility for overseeing our client’s development of regional greenhouse gas emission reduction and monetization projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) framework of the Kyoto Protocol, manage a project pipeline by motivating a team of Originators  and overseeing aspects of current activities in advancing Carbon capture and storage.

You will also be responsible  for the management of the Carbon Portfolio and all investment activity related to projects/companies generating Kyoto eligible carbon credits.

You will spearhead & establish effective liaison with the CDM Executive Board, the UNFCCC Secretariat,COP, DOEs, NGOs and industry experts. You will also keep abreast of the development of the CDM and the Kyoto Protocol and provide relevant input in support of the company strategy.

You will thus be responsible for managing a large & multicultural team who will be responsible for

-        Project Origination in the indicated geographical territories

-        Manage CDM Project Implementation

-        Carbon Finance

-        And overseeing development in Carbon Capture

You will lead a team of Project/Technical Managers, Implementation Specialists, Origination Managers, Originators and a dynamic Carbon Finance & Commercial team members
