Dive Manager

Blue Ventures, an award-winning UK-based marine conservation organisation is currently seeking ar a Dive Manager to join our Expedition team at our newest site in Timor-Leste.  The position is paid, and for a minimum period of 12 months.

The primary role of the Dive Manager involves training staff and expedition volunteers in all aspects of diving, and managing all aspects of the Dive Programme. They will be directly responsible for the control of stock and maintenance of dive equipment, boats, motors and compressors as well as enforcing diving protocols and safety whilst on site.

A suitable candidate needs to be PADI OWSI and EFRI with experience of working in tropical coral habitats and of certifying students from all backgrounds and ages. Knowledge of compressors, outboard engines and basic mechanics is desirable. A background in marine biology is helpful but not essential.

The successful applicant must have good physical fitness, experience of living and working in the developing world, and the motivation and enthusiasm required to work long hours in a challenging tropical environment.

The position will include an initial in-field training period, which will give the successful applicant time to familiarise his or herself with the workings of the site.
