FOUR PAWS, is an international animal welfare organisation with Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in more than 10 other countries. Founded by Heli Dungler in 1988, the organisation strives for improvements in animal welfare through sustainable campaigns and projects. FOUR PAWS focuses on animals that are directly under human influence, for example stray dogs and stray cats, farm animals, wild animals and companion animals kept in inappropriate housing.


FOUR PAWS aims to help animals in need directly and quickly. They are searching for a Disaster Relief Unit Coordinator who develops, implements and coordinates strategic staff and volunteers management for disaster relief projects. Furthermore this position is responsible for financial and administrative tasks. As central Disaster Relief communication centre, this position is also responsible for the organisational exchange of information within the department and inter-departments and externally as requested by the Director of the Disaster Relief Unit.

 

 

DISASTER rELIEF UNIT COORDINATOR (m/f)

Fulltime / Vienna Headquarters

 

Main tasks:

Administrative support:

  • Supporting the Director of Disaster Relief Unit with any organisational or animal welfare related topics
  • Corresponding with colleagues and externals via phone, mail, skype, etc.
  • Coordinating appointments and meetings on an international level as well as keeping and allocating the relevant minutes
  • Preparing workshops and trainings nationally and internationally with regards to content, technical, logistic and administrative organisation
  • Being responsible for travel management including relevant topics, e. g. hotel, visa, preparation of meetings, IT
  • Collecting and submitting the Director’s monthly expense reports for credit card statements and reimbursements
  • Managing contacts for the department physically and electronically

 

Strategic tasks:

  • Researching and investigating on specific topics for the department (e.g. equipment for the Disaster Relief Unit warehouse including technical facilities, transport and logistics in key strategic areas)
  • Participating in bridging different business units in different countries to ensure the provision of FOUR PAWS high quality standards throughout the entire organisation
  • Planning, developing and implementing strategic projects and tasks in coordination with the Director of Disaster Relief Unit

 

Human Resources:

  • Accompanying the whole lifecycle of an employee and volunteer on a national and international level
  • Coordinating and managing any necessary insurances, visas, travel documents, etc. for mission member in cooperation with HR
  • Planning and organising regular trainings for employees and volunteers who are participating in animal welfare related missions including the selection of trainers, the definition of training schedules, the invitation management, infrastructure, certificates, etc.
  • Building up, maintaining and coordinating employees and volunteers in the Disaster Relief Unit in order to keep attention high, to strengthen dedication, to keep them on hold, etc.
  • Supporting in tasks related to strategic HR topics to assist line managers, e. g. conflicts in time management and task settings

 

Your profile:

  • Know-how in organisational support and HR
  • Experience in team management and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and good German (written and oral)
  • High degree of flexibility and a willingness to travel internationally, hands on mentality
  • Proficient in dealing with different cultures
  • Dedication and passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS values and issues
