The Azuero Earth Project is working on Panama’s Azuero Peninsula to protect fragile species and preserve biodiversity in what is now one of the most sensitive, endangered ecosystems in Central America, perhaps the world.
To this end, we are preserving precious remnant forest fragments and connecting them with a mosaic of new forest and farmland dedicated to sustainable agriculture, to create a biological corridor.
This aggregate of old and new forest will provide a gorgeously rich safe haven for a myriad of threatened plants and animals, including our mascot, the critically endangered Azuero Spider Monkey.
