The Humane Society of the United States, the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Director, Wildlife Ecotourism for its International Trade & Development section. The main responsibility for this position is to develop, manage and supervise wildlife ecotourism projects in Latin America and fundraise for additional wildlife ecotourism projects in developing countries. Other duties include, but are not limited to: proposal writing and developing; maintaining donor relationships and initiating and maintaining strategic partnerships with government officials, educational institutions and non-government organizations; promoting Humane Society International by organizing and participating in conferences and media events; networking with critical U.S and foreign government officials, international NGOs and multinational institutions and corporations. Master’s Degree in Wildlife Conservation/Conservation Biology/Ecotourism with at least five years of experience working in wildlife conservation, ecotourism or protected area management and proposal writing/project development highly desired. Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills strongly preferred. Willingness to travel and must be fluent in Spanish.
