Description

Conservation International (CI) partners with governments on local, regional, and national levels around the world to deal with high priority areas of concern. From Brazil to China, from the U.S. to Liberia, we engage nations in a common goal – to preserve natural resources for the benefit of all life on Earth.  This strategy has helped create inclusive, powerful coalitions with government leaders in many nations. While each nation comes to the table with its own goals, priorities, and viewpoints, all strive to protect the natural balance of life on land and in the seas.

Our international efforts have assisted our government partners in overcoming the many challenges they face in balancing conservation with their respective development goals, economic interests, and political realities. Closer to home, our work with government leaders led to creation of the International Conservation Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, a nonpartisan group that helps our legislators understand and act on the important issues facing our planet’s ecological health.

CI is looking for a Director, USG Funding to join our Center for Conservation and Governance (CCG).  This position will have both fundraising and donor management support responsibilities and actively contribute to departmental fundraising goals.

Reporting to the Director, Bilateral Program, this position has fundraising responsibilities include supporting programs in grant and contract proposal preparation to USG agencies as well as developing and maintaining new USG donor and partner relationships.

Donor management responsibilities for this position include acting as an account manager for grants within portfolio as well as developing outreach activities with a focus on producing materials for CI’s CCG/PF USG’s section of intra and internet website.

CI’s USG fundraising opportunities are considerable and the successful candidate will understand the complexities of effectively maneuvering through USG donor agencies.
