The Director, Sustainable Food Security for Latin American will lead, inform and implement regional strategies in order to move toward the above goal. His/her work will build on, enhance and leverage the work already happening at the Program level across Latin America. He/she will serve as a key contact to government agencies, multilaterals, food-products companies, other conservation organizations, foundations and the academic community in coordination with The Conservancy´s structure. He/she will work with Conservation Programs and other regional and global experts to transform the goal above into a specific, actionable business plan and then lead the Latin America Region toward this vision. He/she will coordinate with Conservancy’s Global Priorities groups to ensure that our work is adequately leveraged and represented in international policy and donor events. He/she will play a leading role in engaging donor support both for the Food Security Unit itself and for Conservation Programs’ work on this topic. He/she negotiates or supports the negotiation of complex and innovative solutions with government agencies, companies, major institutions, and landowners related to conservation in the food sector. He/she will work with key Conservancy staff to coordinate, integrate and promote the Conservancy’s diverse projects in agriculture, ranching and fisheries, helping the organization leverage its field successes into new policy and corporate-engagement tools that dramatically increase the scale of our influence and result in significant and measurable conservation results.
