PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Strategic Human Resources and Administration serves as a member of the senior team and is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT) and Administration (Admin) functions at Ocean Conservancy to ensure recruitment and retention of the best and brightest work force and to guarantee an effective and efficient work environment and experience.

Oversight of Human Resources includes, in addition to the foremost responsibility of recruiting and retaining talent, the development, implementation and coordination of HR policies, practices and programs throughout all Ocean Conservancy locations, including DC headquarters; field offices in Alaska, California, Texas, Louisiana, and Florida; and several remote locations having one or more staff. These policies and procedures include, but are not limited to, organizational culture, employment practices, employee relations, compensation, performance management and professional development, employee benefits, diversity management, safety and health and employee activities.

Oversight of Information Technology includes management of IT technicians with responsibilities for supporting desktop computers, network systems, related information technology including telephone and other communication systems used in all Ocean Conservancy business operations.

Oversight of Administrative functions includes management of office support team and services including the reception desk and switchboard, copy and mail center and facilities management as well as other business services necessary for staff within their programs to pursue and achieve OC's organizational goals.
