Director, Power Conversion & Auxiliary, Electrical Systems, Vestas Tech R&D

With reference to the Vice President of Electrical Systems R&D, we are searching for a competent and experienced Director, who dares to make a difference in this new position as the functional leader and focal point for a global team of highly skilled and motivated employees in a dynamic and ambitious company.

The Power Conversion & Auxiliary department consists of two main sub areas, being the Low Voltage Converter Design area and the Aux. systems area. The function is new established with the aim of ensuring seamless interface between the functional competence area’s providing clear responsibilities, performance enhancement and visibility. This new dept. will in size of employees be 60+ continuously growing.

Your main responsibilities and primary tasks will include:

• Managing the global functional Dept. being the functional lead/key person for Power Conversion & Auxiliary dept. within Electrical Systems globally in the framework of Vestas Technology R&D.
• Setting the strategic direction for the department on technology development by driving key technologies, competences, technology roadmaps.
• Ensuring technical solutions are linked commercially across the entire value chain – from research to end customer. This includes Key stakeholder management in regards to Production Business Units ensuring high level of quality in all deliveries.
• Developing and implementing best practice of design processes and communication in a global organization.
• Working closely with specialists/engineers to determine technical direction of solutions within departments.
• Resource planning and prioritization in cooperation with the Electrical Program Management.
• Interfacing with relevant BU’s, stakeholders, customers, suppliers and other partners
• Driving people performance through your managers.
• Ensuring timely delivery, quality and meeting cost targets.
• The department’s budget and finances, including investments.
