Director of System Development, Bristol, UK

My client is a part of one of the worlds largest companies in the world. They have a market presence across a wide range of sectors and is a major player in the international market. They are developing new technology to rival their main competitors in the wind industry and are looking to ensure that they secure the best talent in order to achieve this.

Position Overview:

My client is currently looking for a Director of Development to lead the development of the wind turbine system in the UK. You will oversee the design and system optimization of Wind Turbines in order to optimize the output of the product. You will report directly to the department head internationally and play a major role in the development process internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• •         Design, research and develop trends for system and components in order to establish cost models for the wind turbine generator systems
• •         You will utilise your knowledge of cost management in order to achieve the best results within the budget constraints of the company
• •         Provide input into the design and implementation process of the load calculation of wind turbine generators
• •         Perform due diligence advice when required as part of a particular project audits and present results to relevant managers
• •         Work alongside other key engineers as part of a team in the development of and research of the system
• •         You will lead the troubleshooting and verification of the design

 Education:

Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related Science Masters degree minimum

Core Requirements:-

• •         15-20 years experience in the development of wind turbine systems
• •         Experience working for a major manufacturer of wind turbine
• •         2-4 years experience minimum of senior management experience
• •         A strong desire to work to the highest quality and standards in order to maintain the reputation of the company
• •         Highly organised with a proven ability to project manage where necessary

General Requirement

• •         Exceptional management and organisations skills
• •         Ability to travel for extended periods of time
• •         Knowledge of related regulatory issues
• •         Ideally the candidate would be a member of relative professional institutions

Key Skills:-

Load calculation, engineering , wind engineers, wind turbine generators, manufacturer of wind turbine, structural analysis and general management experience.
