The Canadian Organization for Tropical Education & Rainforest Conservation (COTERC) is a not-for-profit conservation organization dedicated to providing leadership in education, research and conservation and the educated use of natural resources in the tropics.

Job Title: Director of Special Events

Reports to: COTERC Chair

Qualifications
• University degree or college diploma.
• 3 to 5 years relevant experience with a charity organization.
• Familiar with fundraising and event coordination.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• oversee the coordination of all special events held for COTERC and its Membership
• coordinate and supoervise volunteers at all events
• initiate fundraising activities and head fundraising team. 
• compile and archive all event information
• Attend monthly board meetings and update board of events status
