The RSPCA is the largest animal welfare charity in England and Wales, employing over 1,500 people and with more than 175 branches. Its mission is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of all animals, nationally and internationally. The Society’s running costs are in excess of £100m per year and we are funded exclusively by voluntary donations and legacies.

We are seeking a sophisticated Director to provide financial leadership, strategic advice and support over a range of key disciplines within the Resources Division. They will ensure that Finance, Information Systems and Support, Property Services, Procurement and Human Resources strategies, processes and controls are implemented in line with statutory requirements.

To succeed you will have:
• A professional accounting qualification recognised by CCAB.
• Significant experience in leading and managing a finance function in a large and complex operating environment.
• A high degree of commercial awareness and strong management skills.
• Demonstrable experience in building and sustaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in the management and delivery of business critical projects.
You will have a robust personality, a high level of commercial awareness and intellectual rigour, as well as an empathy with the RSPCA’s vision for animal welfare.
