Position Description

 

The Director of Marketing Technology is responsible for all of Defenders of Wildlife and Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund websites as well as the smooth functioning of our Content Management System (CMS), Electronic Customer Relationship Management (eCRM) platform, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, integration of data via API or appends, Ecommerce platform, all other technology pertaining to various giving channels such as mobile, social media, etc. As the director of technology, this position oversees all website information architecture and implementation, product enhancements to the CMS and CRM/eCRM; optimization of the performance of Defenders’ sites; and other special projects as needed. Effective file audit to confirm data accuracy, health of the file, data consistency, and vendor performance is one of the key responsibilities of this position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee efficient and accurate management of the CRM as it relates to architecture, data, processes, and enhancements.
  • Oversee efficient and accurate management of the ECRM as it relates to architecture, data, processes, and enhancements.
  • Ensure marketing needs are met efficiently. Analyze and communicate issues and recommendations for enhancements with the VP of Operations. Oversee implementations of such projects.
  • Manage all website and microsite related implementations and enhancements, integrations with other systems, optimize performance and work with the Marketing team to implement all new campaigns and strategies.
  • Lead management of vendors for all systems
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to maximize traffic to websites through search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), and other techniques
  • Design and implement effective strategies to integrate multi channel giving, manage implementation and workflow pertaining to all such projects.
  • Construct and deploy efficient work flows and processes. Optimize current operations as it relates to systems.
  • Develop team short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing requirements
  • Communicate duties and responsibilities to direct reports and monitor performance. Provide regular coaching and counseling.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science or information systems
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of progressively responsible database management experience; 2+ years of relevant management/supervisory experience preferred
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Prior experience integration data and systems
    • Proven track record to optimize processes
    • Proven track record to design and enforce QC protocols
    • Knowledge of general conservation/environmental issues
  • Physical Demands:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer and communicate with others while doing so.
  • Work Environment:
    • General office working conditions, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
