The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Director of Institutional Relations in our Advancement Department. The position will be based in the Charlestown, NH office.  This key member of the Advancement team will lead and support a team of 3-4 Regional Development Officers and 3 Grant Specialists to ensure that strategic funding priorities are pursued and current levels of institutional funding are maintained while growing and diversifying institutional revenue.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a national foundation and corporate giving program that raises more than $5M annually
  • Manage a high powered team of fundraising professionals working across the United States
  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of foundation and/or corporate prospects which make substantial grants to SCA
  • Work closely with Finance and Program to ensure accurate tracking and projection of institutional revenue.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of development experience, particularly foundation and/or corporate relations
    Self-starter, comfortable working and managing in a deadline driven and detailed financial reporting environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and significant experience with grant writing
    Managerial experience required with demonstrated ability to manage staff, both on-site and remote, in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated high level of skill in planning, budgeting collaboration and staff development
    Strong working knowledge and experience with MSOffice products required; experience with Raiser’s Edge highly preferred
  • Willingness to travel nationally
  • Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
  • Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
