SunRun’s mission is to make residential solar affordable for every homeowner that wants it, and we have thousands of satisfied customers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

SunRun pioneered residential solar power service in 2007, and since then we've grown to become the most popular and trusted residential solar energy provider in the nation, with over 10,000 customers. We are looking for a Director of Government Affairs with significant experience in energy policy. Our continued success is highly dependent on developing and maintaining pro-solar policies at the state legislatures and utility commissions. Because regulatory and legislative issues are always evolving, the Director of Government Affairs will play a critical role in early identification of risks and opportunities.

This position may be located in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.

To apply, please send an email introduction and resume to pats@sunrunhome.com .

  • Track state legislation such as Renewable Portfolio Standards, incentive programs and tax laws
  • Provide support to our Operations team and installer partners to resolve issues with utilities
  • Represent SunRun before trade associations and in industry forums
  • Assess the competitive landscape and report on business opportunities resulting from policy changes
  • Provide miscellaneous policy support to our Channel, Sales and Marketing teams

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work autonomously on the East Coast
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in government affairs; prefer experience working with state utility commissions
  • Excellent communication and web research skills
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to manage many projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Renewable Energy Credit (REC) markets a plus
  • Finance/tax background a plus
  • Strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and the ability to work effectively with many deadlines
