POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Serves as the Team Leader for the Longleaf Pine Integrated Landscape Team, providing leadership, coordination, consultation and direction for purposes of engaging in a multi state effort to develop and implement a conservation plan for a very large ecosystem that will utilize land protection, restoration and land management strategies.
• Aids in the implementation and development of strategies to protect large forest blocks in the Integrated Landscape or multi-state acquisitions requiring substantial coordination.
• Coordinates the implementation of restoration and land management strategies throughout the Integrated Landscape.
• Provides ongoing input into the development of forest carbon and other climate-related policy, as well as other federal policies relevant to longleaf pine, as part of the Conservancy’s nationwide dialogue.
• Ensures Conservancy input into development of Farm Bill programs and strategies, including implementation of Farm Bill mandated forest assessments in each of the states within the Longleaf Pine Integrated Landscape.
• Engenders and supports new partnerships for innovative strategies, particularly those that demonstrate new models for working forests and large contiguous forest blocks.
• Provides point of contact for external partners, including USFS, DOD, Longleaf Alliance, federal and state agencies, industry, trade groups, state foresters, etc., and ensures participation in conservation forums relevant to longleaf pine conservation range-wide.
• Responsible for producing all Integrated Landscape plans and reports required by participating states, Eastern Division and the Worldwide Office.
