Director of Energy Efficiency and Sustainability, Beijing, China

My client is a leading consultancy, providing a comprehensive range of services in the sustainability and climate change sector.

Responsibilities:-

• Oversee the strategic development, business operations and execution of energy & sustainability services across Asia
• Work in close collaboration with other business units within the organisation  
• Responsible for the overall energy & sustainability-related strategy, market positioning and development of the various business units
• Responsible for improving the energy efficiency of large organizations and domestic properties
• Coordinating all aspects of energy management, from energy efficiency and reduction of CO2 emissions to waste management and sustainable development
• Providing technical advice on energy efficiency
• Liaise with and provide technical support to building services design engineers on new projects regarding sustainability and energy
• Devising strategies to meet the demands of legislation
• Develop policy for energy reduction, carbon management and sustainability
• Develop systems for buying energy and contract negotiations
• Provide technical and practical advice on energy efficiencies and compliance (CDM, BREEAM, CRC, EU, ETS etc)
• Coordinate sustainable development initiatives

Requirements:-

• You will have at least 5 years experience in energy efficiency solutions and projects
• Ability to travel frequently to client sites
• Must have strong educational background (BSc in Building Services Engineering or a relevant degree)

• Proficient with making impactful presentations
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements in the industry
• Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities

• Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
