  As part of our continuous development and growth strategy, we are looking to recruit a dynamic Diversity, Inclusion & Organizational Programs Director (DIO) to join our US Administration team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for Diversity and Inclusion initiatives as well as learning and delivery who would excel in a fast-paced and innovative organization. The role will increase the capability of employees and managers through the delivery and administration of D&I, learning and organizational program initiatives. This role requires someone who can project manage, deliver and implement existing programs, and work with our organization’s stakeholders including senior leadership and human resources to recommend, design, and deliver new ones. The successful candidate will drive high levels of participation in programs by ensuring efficiency, relevancy, and innovation in their delivery. He or she will continuously link D&I, learning, and development to organizational performance and ensure that courses are scalable globally where appropriate. The successful candidate will also have a strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization skills, an ability to act professionally regarding sensitive subjects, and an ability to work in a high change environment.

Position Summary:

 Coordinate Greenpeace USA’s diversity and inclusion culture change process to become a more diverse and inclusive organization.  Work with the Senior Management Plus Team, the COO, Director of HR, the Diversity and Inclusion Council, external consultants, and other key stakeholders to increase the capability of everyone to implement this organizational development change. Facilitate and expand existing training programs, track training statistics to ensure compliance, and develop effectiveness assessments.   Recommend and assist in the development and delivery of new training and diversity programs

 Essential Functions:

 1.         Organizational Development, Internal Consulting, Program Administration.  (70%)

  •  Develop, implement, and champion diversity & inclusion strategies to support organizational capabilities.
  • Project manage and coordinate the work of the Diversity & Inclusion Council;
  • Support and coach Greenpeace USA’s management team on diversity & inclusion.
  • Strategize and lead internal communication on diversity & inclusion;
  • Integrate diversity & inclusion work throughout the organization, both in internal-facing and program departments;
  • Participate in the administration of organizational programs including the Employee Opinion Survey from pre-survey field communication to results analysis & follow-up.
  • Lead the administration and roll-out of the Performance Appraisal process training and feedback meetings.
  • Conduct and source research, benchmarks, and comprehensive analytics to inform and support Greenpeace USA’s diversity & inclusion strategy.
  • Manage learning initiatives through continuous cycle of needs/gap analysis, design, project management and logistics, delivery, and evaluation.
  • In partnership with senior management, monitor and evaluate ROI of programs.
  • Proactively recommend strategies to enhance the achievement of additional diversity and inclusion success.
  • Partner with Greenpeace USA’s talent acquisition team and HR leadership to establish a comprehensive and diverse talent sourcing strategy.

 2.         Develop, administer, and facilitate, training programs. (15%)

  •  Administer/oversee staff orientation and on-boarding experience.
  •  Integrate diversity and inclusion content in foundational manager and employee training
  • Coordinate and plan diversity & inclusion workshops.
  • Develop trainings and train staff on recruitment, leadership development, and inclusive culture, as applicable;

 3.         Relationship management and communication of training requirements. (15%)

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and external training partners.
  • Coordinate and liaise on diversity and inclusion with other Greenpeace National and Regional Offices, and allied organizations.
  • Work closely with diversity & inclusion champions.
  • Communicate training requirements and ensure compliance.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development , Diversity and Inclusion, HR, Communications,  or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

 Experience:

  • 5-7 years of relevant, Diversity and Inclusion, Organizational Development, HR, and/or training experience
  • Non-profit experience a plus

  • Ability to engage and support others through resistance and inclusion challenges using a high degree of emotional awareness and a coaching style;
  • Able to work successfully within and across all departments;
  • Able to articulate the value of diversity & inclusion for Greenpeace;
  • Proven experience in directing a project from conception to completion;
  • Ability to continually analyze and evaluate processes and programs and to create innovative and strategic improvements;
  • Some experience preferred in some or all of the following: diversity and inclusion, human resources, non-profit management, advocacy, recruitment, training, facilitation, budgeting.
  • Proven ability to design, coordinate, and lead interactive and effective trainings
