The Director of Conservation Initiatives helps establish the Conservancy as a major conservation partner; helps define conservation priorities and long-term conservation strategies; builds strategic, scientific, and technical capacity through collaboration; and develops key partnerships with public and private organizations to identify and resolve complex problems. S/he will foster and integrate rigorous science, innovative and critical thinking, strategic cost-benefit analysis, adaptive management, real estate transactions, restoration design and tactical partner/stakeholder engagement to advance the Conservancy’s ambitious conservation initiatives.  S/he builds and sustains highly effective working relationships with government agencies, other NGOs, funding entities, businesses, elected officials, and the academic community.
