ClientEarth is looking for a new Director of Communications. We seek a highly experienced media professional able to drive our organisation’s communications to the next level. The Director of Communications will oversee the creation and implementation of a communications strategy that will enable ClientEarth to significantly raise its profile. They will be able to manage and motivate a small comms teams responsible for print, broadcast and digital output both in the UK and abroad. The Director will educate staff throughout the organisation to ensure communications is recognised as an essential element of our work. They will engage with the media to ensure ClientEarth is at the forefront of environmental discussion and debate throughout Europe and beyond. The Director will take responsibility for all aspects of the organisation’s communications, ensuring that the stories of ClientEarth’s vision, mission, and victories past and future are told to dynamic and far-sighted effect. We believe it’s time to make ClientEarth a household name. We seek a candidate able to help us reach that goal. This role is based in ClientEarth’s London office.
About you The Director of Communications must have experience in managing a team. They must be able to train and encourage others to engage with the media.They must have extensive media contacts, ideally in the environmental sector. They must have the skills, experience and personal confidence to be part of a senior management team.They must have the energy, focus and ability to drive the organisation’s communications forward. About us ClientEarth is a public interest environmental law group founded in 2007. ClientEarth brings together law, science and policy to create practical solutions to key environmental challenges. Working in partnership with civil society and policy-makers, ClientEarth is committed to securing the rights of citizens and civil society to participation, information and justice in environmental matters. In Europe and beyond, ClientEarth’s 75 strong staff includes legal experts qualified in more than ten jurisdictions. We are based in offices in London, Brussels and Warsaw and have lawyers in Ghana, Gabon and Congo Brazzaville. Our programmes cover environmental justice, biodiversity, climate and forests, climate and energy, and health and environment.
