Description |
Communications & Fundraising TeamCan you increase support for bats? The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is proud to be the leading non-governmental organisation devoted solely to the conservation of bats and their habitats. Our mission is to secure the future of bats in a changing world. With 5,600 members, 20,000 followers and over 2,000 volunteers, BCT works to create a better world for bats. Bats inspire strong passions, from fear to great enthusiasm. We have been successful in harnessing people’s passion for bats in our voluntary fundraising, securing donations from a variety of sources, including membership, appeals to individuals, trusts, major donors, corporate and community fundraising. To support our growing range of projects we need to increase our donations, donor base and diversity of fundraising yet further with both restricted and unrestricted and fundraising. Our communications programmes aim to turn around the “blood sucking” image of bats. Bats live alongside people, in the countryside as well as cities, even roosting in our homes. This leaves bats vulnerable to our actions, and bat populations suffered severe declines last century and remain under threat from loss of habitat, lack of insect food, persecution and building and development work. But bats and people sharing spaces so closely also presents an opportunity to engage people in conservation. Director of Communications & FundraisingThis is a varied and exciting role, leading our work to secure donations, members and active support for bats. We are looking for a persuasive communicator with fundraising, business and management experience and the ability to be flexible and creative without losing sight of our ambitious targets.
