OPOWER, an innovative and highly successful SaaS company in the behavioral-based energy efficiency sector, has an opportunity for a dynamic, experienced, and inventive HR leader. We have recently passed the 200-headcount mark (and will be roughly 300 people by the end of 2011), and as we continue grow we're continuing to increase our investment in human capital management. The right candidate for this position will not only have deep executional skills but also bring creativity and adaptability to the role. In this role, you will drive world class human capital practices across all HR functional areas while building a robust global people management infrastructure that supports success in a hyper-growth, employee-driven environment. About the Job

  • Lead HR Strategy, Services and Operations in a talent-driven, hyper-growth environment.
  • Deliver creative and effective programs across HR functional areas to drive business results.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team as consultant and advisor on all human capital matters.
  • Provide expertise in the development of programs across all HR functional areas, including: Organizational Development, Compensation and Benefits, Leadership Development, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, etc.
  • Drive cultural initiatives to support Best Place to Work goals, with an eye to superior branding of OPOWER locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to set recruiting strategies in a high-bar, metrics driven environment where cultural integration is critical.
  • Continue to deliver and develop our widely celebrated employee on-boarding process.
  • Inspire, lead, and develop HR team, including current HR Manager and Coordinator.
  • Guide HR build-out for international expansion into multiple foreign markets.
  • Seek and build informative metrics about human capital at OPOWER that drive a world class employment experience for O-Folks.
  • Position Human Resources as a positive, enabling function with whom departments seek to partner.

About You

  • High impact leader and natural coach/facilitator with proven experience in building a people-focused function to structure human capital strategies and drive business results.
  • 10+ years progressive HR leadership experience, including significant experience developing and managing a team. Generalist background required, Talent Acquisition experience desired, other HR specialty experience a plus. Experience in technology companies a plus.
  • SPHR certification preferred
  • Highly organized professional with broad knowledge and experience in organizational planning, organizational development, compensation, employment law, employee relations, training and development, and talent acquisition.
  • Excellent communicator with a proven history of strong influence capabilities at all levels.
  • Proven track record of breaking the mold in producing innovative solutions. Demonstrated experience in integrating and leading metrics-driven HR functions in a fast paced, high growth environment. Ability to flex between setting global strategy and rolling up the sleeves to do the work. Start-up experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and 'general manager' mindset required. Global experience a plus.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related area from a top tier academic institution. Graduate degree preferred. Proven ability to listen and 'get it' when working with new organizations and cultures.
