Position Description
Sungevity’s Corporate Development group is responsible for creating strategic partnerships to help the company sell, procure and install solar systems for our customers nationwide. Building on our flagship channel partnership with Lowe’s, Sungevity is seeking to put in place deep strategic marketing relationships with leading brands in a range of industries, from retailers to electric vehicles to a dozen others.
Responsibilities:
The Director, Corporate Development will be responsible for developing partnership strategy, prioritizing among partners, networking into meetings, building relationships and negotiating and closing deals. This role is key to unlocking the future in the most exciting part of the most exciting industry in the world today. The position reports to the Vice President Relationship Marketing, collaborates extensively with Sungevity co-founders and is part of a small, elite team handling strategic partnerships for the company.

The ideal SDCD is an irresistible relationship builder with a passion for building partnerships.
- Superb interpersonal skills to represent the Sungevity brand, quickly forge strong relationships with potential partners, and build lasting friendships between companies
- Strong strategic instincts to prioritize among prospects, and sharpen the company’s focus. Must be able to uncover the strategic sweet spot between two organizations and structure a winning partnership
- A natural engine requiring little hand-holding and an ability to do big things independently
- Negotiating skills to close deals while building strong, lasting relationships
- Proven ability to collaborate internally and facilitate smooth, fast transitions to the execution team
- Multiple years of business development experience is required
- Entrepreneurial experience is a plus
- Solar experience and knowledge is a plus as is commitment to socially responsible business
- Experience selling and negotiating is critical
