The Director of USAID LEAD’s recently launched Asian Greenhouse Gas Management Center (AGMC) will lead the development of curriculum, resources and delivery of programs, establishing partnerships, new funding sources, and operational systems. The incumbent will report to the Chief of Party of the USAID LEAD program, and will closely collaborate with the program’s client (USAID RDMA), academic and professional units within the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and LEAD subcontractors (e.g., the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide intellectual and business leadership for AGMC
- Represent AGMC to the international climate change community, including but not limited to: international partnerships (e.g., LEDS Global Partnership), national governments, international organizations, and funding agencies
- Act as AGMC’s spokesperson for internal and external stakeholders and project partners, including the media
- Oversee the development and implementation of the program's annual programming and business plan, in consultation with project and national partners
- Manage ongoing day to day operations of AGMC activities
- Identify and guide initiatives that serve to support AGMC, as well as counterparts in government, industry, academia civil society, and the media
- Ascertain resource generation opportunities driven by appropriate collaborative project activities
- Write proposals for donor agencies and other potential funders for projects
Basic Qualifications:

Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in area of expertise.

12+ years of related subject area work experience

Demonstrated experience working in Asia

A track record working with international donors
Preferred Skills/Experience:

Excellent spoken and written English

Fluency in at least one Asian language other than English

Excellent written communication skills

Demonstrated expertise in starting training centers, program management, and/or setting up organizations

Experience in one or more of the following areas: carbon management, greenhouse gas inventories, offset projects, climate change policy

Ability to work across different sectors, and to engage like-minded leaders as partners

Proven ability to work constructively with diverse stakeholders

Experience working with national governments and/or international organizations

Resource mobilization and fundraising experience

Excellent project management and coordination skills
