The Marine Protected Areas Branch manages 58 marine parks around Australia protecting marine habitats and species, while allowing ecologically sustainable use. The Director Marine Parks North manages the unique and world class natural environments of nine of these marine parks, in the Coral Sea and the North of Australia. 

Parks Australia are offering an exciting ongoing opportunity to manage Northern marine parks. If you are an experienced marine park manager, able to manage and monitor marine parks, as well as provide strategic advice and lead a team of dedicated staff – this is the role for you! 

You will be working with scientists, Indigenous rangers, recreational and commercial fishers, tourism operators and government representatives in the Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia, to manage these parks. You will also be responsible for directing monitoring and research, for providing advice on what activities should be allowed in these parks and managing a team of around ten staff.
