Our Client Financial Advisory Services LLP advises clients on managing business controversy and conflict, executing deals, and maintaining regulatory compliance. We provide services to companies throughout their lifecycle from purchasing a company to investigating potential fraud.

Our Forensics professionals review accounting and business records and provide detailed analysis to help uncover essential facts and insights. We can bring to bear the range of our forensic investigation skill set to help our clients understand and analyze events or issues and prepare to deal with them. We have developed methodologies and strategies that help clients handle difficult circumstances.

The Environmental Consulting & Sustainability Services practice is part of the Forensic and Dispute practice within Our Client FAS. Our practitioners provide attest support through analyzing the policies, processes, and controls by which environmental matters are identified, assessed, measured, and reported including:

• Contingent environmental liabilities resulting from unasserted claims, litigation, Superfund sites or remediation

• Asset retirement obligations associated with facility closure, post-closure and financial assurance costs

• Consideration of the impact of new, proposed or pending environmental regulations

• Fines, penalties, and compliance violations

Our team consists of accountants, engineers, economists and professionals with valuation, legal and forensic professional experience analyzing environmental liabilities, including loss contingencies and asset retirement obligations, and determining whether they have been recorded or disclosed in accordance with relevant accounting guidance.

The responsibilities and opportunities associated with the position include:

Leveraging technical accounting expertise and auditing experience to develop a specialization in consulting on environmental, health, safety (EHS)  and sustainability matters for the purposes of supporting scoping and delivery of internal and external audits. These engagements require knowledge of US GAAP as well asIFRS, and may encompass specialized accounting such as Fresh Start accounting or purchase accounting rules.

Leading the delivery of consultative engagements related to internal and external financial and operational audits assessing the impacts of environmental, health, safety (EHS) and sustainability related risks.        The objectives of these audits are to assess ICFR and the financial statement impacts of environmental matters and evaluate or analyze EHS compliance programs and management systems, in order to determine whether the processes, methodology, and assumptions used to manage and estimate the environmental liabilities or other related matters are technically sound and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles or other relevant industry practices.

Applying “governance” perspective to support assessments of EHS and Sustainability strategy for organizations through identifying EHS and sustainability drivers, risks and related life cycle costs and based on stated business priorities, operational integration requirements and governance infrastructures.

Leading delivery of due diligence and strategic assessments for buyers, sellers and private equity firms evaluating EHS and Sustainability matters and their potential economic and financial reporting in connection with mergers & acquisitions.

Supporting business disputes or litigation engagements related to EHS and sustainability, from case theory development and discovery to expert witness testimony in the areas of cost allocation, damages assessments (including Natural Resource Damages), and insurance claims preparation, amongst others.

Support broader Our Client FAS engagement delivery in the areas of transactions; investigations; forensic analyses; and foreign corrupt practices act, insurance and real estate consulting, and etc.

Developing delivery protocols, resources and training to support leverage, risk management, and to achieve high growth potential.

Environmental Consulting & Sustainability Managers will possess the following qualifications:

5+ years environmental engineering, remediation or environmental management-related experience

7+ years of audit experience, professional services experience preferred

Demonstrated experience working on forensic investigations

Demonstrated experience in project management, business and strategic planning, report development, and managing client relationships and sales

Exceptional leadership/supervision skills and technical, analytical and business writing skills

High motivation and interest in expanding a practice in a dynamic high growth area

Bachelor of Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering required; MBA preferred; Finance, Accounting and Cost Estimation backgrounds and CPA and/or CFA certifications, a plus
