Brief Description
The Director of Sales, US Government / Military will lead sales efforts of Suniva high efficiency photovoltaic (PV) Modules to US Government and Military entities and contractors. We are seeking a motivated sales leader with proven sales experience to US Government entities and contractors to those entities including: GSA, VA, DOE and DOD (Air Force, Army Coast Guard, Marines, Navy). This individual will leverage his / her existing relationships within US Government procurement entities to close sales of Suniva’s Buy American compliant high efficiency PV modules. Must be able to thrive in a fast paced high growth environment.
Responsibilities:
- Sales of Suniva PV modules for US Government / Military solar projects
- Sales may be directly to government entities, or to government contractors / defense contractors who construct PV projects
- Specific sales experience with PV modules, PV system integration, or PV project development a plus.
- Tracking sales activities and pipeline in Suniva’s CRM system
- US Government PV market opportunity assessment: The successful candidate will conduct research to assess the US Government solar market and forecast Suniva’s business growth in this market.
- Strategic selling: The successful candidate will be able to uncover PV project opportunities within US Government entities and successfully navigate the procurement process to win those projects.
- Interpersonal and communication skills: The successful candidate is a team player who will interact with key Suniva departments (Operations, Engineering. Marketing, Finance) to successfully perform his / her job. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Requirements (do not apply without these):
- 4+ years of experience in business development / sales to US Government / Military entities.
- 8+ years progressive sales experience
- Proven successful sales background in solar projects/equipment, high-technology or related construction projects to the US Government/ Military
- Existing network of contacts within the US Government / Military and contractors is required.
- 10+ strong Military or Military vendor references required.
- Proven hunter who understands the US government sales process and can navigate the bureaucracy to achieve sales goals.

- Excellent MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
