Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the continent’s leader in waterfowl and wetlands conservation, seeks a Digital Media Developer to join the Digital Media & Marketing Team in support of the DU website, mobile apps, social media and other interactive channels. This individual will report to the Manager of Digital Media and be responsible for developing innovative, reusable web-based applications using best practices. In addition, this person will be responsible for day-to-day support requests for the multiple applications that currently support DU’s digital efforts.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative, user-friendly, high-availability web-based applications in support of ducks.org, DU’s online fundraising/membership efforts, mobile apps and social media.

  • Be an active participant in planning and retrospective meetings. Serve as technical liaison as needed.

  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Assist in evaluating and providing feedback on new web technologies.

  • Work with IT department as needed to integrate volunteer/member data.

  • Create high level documentation for user manuals and disaster recovery.

  • Assist in day-to-day support tasks.

  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Minimum Skill & Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience working with web programming/development languages including, C#, HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, and SQL.

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, Team Foundation Server, GitHub and SQL Server Management Studio.

  • Familiar with the optimization of mobile web assets and understanding of RWD (responsive web design).

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork and negotiation. Ability to organize multiple priorities along with day-to-day support items.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and effective time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • B.S. or A.S. degree in computer science, MIS or related field. Candidates with proven development experience and demonstrated ability/knowledge will also be considered.

Pluses

  • Previous knowledge of DU or volunteer experience.

  • Interest in the outdoors, including waterfowling.

  • Experience in MVC, JQuery/JQuery Mobile, AngularJS, .Net Web API, Bootstrap or Foundation.

  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (i.e., Rackspace, Amazon, Azure).

  • Experience in DNN (formerly DotNetNuke).

  • Experience in mobile app development.

  • Experience in Apache Cordova (Phonegap) with Intel XDK IDE.
