Description
If you’re a digital native who lives for the web and has a solid understanding and feel for how people use it, then this role could be for you.
 
The IEA is looking for someone who is comfortable using a wide variety of social networks, developing websites through a content management system and who is able to shoot and edit both video and photographs. All applicants must have exceptional writing skills and ideally have demonstrable experience across a number of digital platforms. Knowledge of the energy landscape would be a plus.
 
Working within the IEA’s Communications department in our Paris Office the role reports to the Head of News and Multimedia, You’ll have exposure to the other communications disciplines and from time to time, be expected to support and get involved in team-wide initiatives.
 
Main Responsibilities
 
Social Media
  • You will have day-to-day responsibility for the corporate social media channels. You’ll monitor conversations, engage with our followers, and provide internal support and training to colleagues. You’ll promote our unique content, share news and provide support to ensure we amplify our messaging in a targeted, sustained way across our chosen channels.
Website
  • You will work closely with the web technical lead and web officer in developing websites, databases, info graphics and supporting IEA staff in the use and development of digital platforms.
Multimedia
  • You will write scripts, film and edit engaging short videos (3-5 minutes) that illustrate the work of the IEA and the key debates around energy. You will act as the IEA chief photographer with the composition and technical skills to produce and preserve images that visually tell a story or record an event. You will have produce infographics for websites and social media channels and produce PowerPoint presentations for the IEA Executive Director.
Editorial
  • You will write editorial that informs and takes complex technical information and makes it understandable to a broader audience while attracting and retaining users to the IEA website.
 
Ideal Candidate Profile
 
Academic Background
  • Post-secondary level of education, preferably at university level or equivalent in a related field such as multimedia, journalism, or communications. 
Professional Background
  • At least three to five  years experience as a multimedia journalist/producer, community manager or similar role. 
  • Experience in taking high quality photopraphs and shooting professional videos.
NB. Please note that if you reach the next step in the recruitment process, you will be asked to prepare a video on a subject that will be disclosed at that stage.
 
Tools
  • Excellent knowledge of Final Cut Pro and iMovie, Audacity or other multi-track audio editing programs as well as Photoshop, Dreamweaver and standard PC software packages.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems.
Languages
  • An excellent written and oral command of English. Working knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
 
Core Competencies
 
Contract Duration
  • A two year fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
 
  • Monthly base salary starting from 4355.74  EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.
