Description

RES is one of the world's leading renewable energy developers, working across the globe to develop, construct and operate projects that contribute to our goal of a sustainable future.

In the quarter of a century since RES was formed, we have played a central role in the development of the global renewable energy market and we have helped to move the sustainable energy debate from the margin to the mainstream. We have a portfolio of low-carbon energy technologies and a range of services which together can meet demand from the industrial, public and commercial sectors on whatever scale.

RES has been an established presence at the forefront of the wind energy industry for two decades. Our core activity is the development, design, construction, financing and operation of wind farm projects worldwide. With a portfolio of more than 5GW developed and/or constructed and several thousand megawatts under construction and in development, RES continues to play a leading role in what is now the world's fastest growing energy sector.  RES is also an independent power producer. We own and operate a growing portfolio of wind farms around the world, currently totalling over 500MW.

The Role

As part of the UK and Ireland Development team within RES UK&I Ltd, the UK onshore wind business unit within RES Group, you will have responsibility for project managing the development of medium wind projects (1-5MWs). The post will report to the Strategic Business Development Manager. Day to day activity will involve project site identification, screening and selection, design, through to consenting and the financial close of the projects.

Working independently, you will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating internal and external consultancy resource as required to deliver projects, including planning applications, Environmental Impact Assessment studies, engineering design, technical analysis, grid studies, commercial support and other stakeholders.

You will also formulate and implement project development plans and manage development budgets within the RES UK & Ireland strategy and business plan for medium wind. The position will be based at our Head Office in Kings Langley and you will be required to travel throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Person

You will have a Degree, or equivalent, in a planning or relevant engineering based subject and have direct experience of renewable energy project development or relevant experience of developing controversial infrastructure projects and/or dealing with major planning applications in a local authority. Knowledge of renewables, specifically wind energy or conventional power generation is preferred, but not essential if transferable skills can be demonstrated.

You will have proven experience of successfully dealing with developments and planning applications either in planning authorities, or as a consultant or developer. Some experience of dealing with other project stakeholders, including landowners, project contractors, external consultants and development partners is also a requirement. With an aptitude for project management and knowledge of programming, budgetary and risk management, you will be a highly motivated self starter, with a keen interest in the renewable energy sector.

Working within the UK and Ireland development team you will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial and problem solving abilities. You should also possess a current UK driving licence.

This is a personal development opportunity for an individual to gain experience with a leading independent renewable energy developer with significant career opportunities in a rapidly expanding sector for a fast growing business.
