Renewable Energy Systems Group (RES) is one of the world's leading independent wind farm developers employing over 1000 people worldwide.  Since its formation in the early 1980's, RES has played a central role in the development of the wind energy market in the UK and, more recently, has achieved significant success in international markets. RES has developed and constructed over 5GW of wind power capacity and has an expanding portfolio of projects at various stages of development around the world.

RES now has a vacancy for a Wind Farm Development Manager based in Cardiff.

As part of the Welsh development team you will have responsibility for project managing the development of wind farm sites. This will involve site screening and selection through to consenting and financial close of wind farm projects. Working independently you will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating internal and external resource as required to deliver projects, including engineering and technical support, Environmental Impact Assessment studies, grid studies, consultants, commercial support and other stakeholders. You will also formulate and implement project development plans and manage development budgets within the RES UK & Ireland strategy and business plan. The position will be based at our Cardiff office and you will be required to travel throughout Wales.

You will have a degree in an environmental, engineering, planning or science based subject with experience of developing infrastructure projects. Experience in renewables or conventional power generation is preferred, but not essential. You will have relevant experience of successfully dealing with planning authorities and other project stakeholders, including landowners, project contractors, external consultants and development partners. With an aptitude for project management and leadership you will be self-motivated with a keen interest in the renewable energy sector. Experience of Environmental Impact Assessment and preparing Environmental Statements would be an advantage, as would an understanding of the planning system in Wales and planning policy relating to renewable energy.

Working within the Welsh development team you will be an outgoing team player with good interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial abilities. You should also possess a current UK driving licence.
