Earthjustice currently has an opening for a paid intern to assist with our fundraising efforts. The Development Intern will work in our headquarters office in Oakland, California. Assignments will include, but are not limited to, research activities, data analysis and support, preparation of donor materials and mailings.

Founded in 1971, Earthjustice brings about far-reaching change by using the courts to enforce and strengthen environmental protections on behalf of hundreds of organizations and communities.

Key responsibilities of this position include:
• Donor relations activities including updating records; responding to email inquiries; and, assistance with stewardship mailings
• Planned giving prospect research and modeling project
• Data entry and data cleanup projects
• Data analytics of direct marketing efforts

Qualifications
Applicants must have excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills, as well as the ability to learn quickly, work both independently and collaboratively, exceptional phone manner, and must be resourceful. A working knowledge of online research and MS Word/Excel is required. Experience with databases is desirable, as is familiarity with fundraising and philanthropy. An interest in environmental causes is highly desirable.

Internship Terms and Compensation
Earthjustice is looking for an intern who can work a minimum of 12 hours a week in order to ensure continuity in project work. The internship will run for 2.5 months or 11-12 weeks (depending on weekly hours worked). The work schedule is flexible, although some specific dates may be necessary.

This internship pays a stipend and may be eligible for academic credit.
