What we need: A self-starting, creative, connected Development and Strategic Partnership Director who can build a thriving national fundraising program of more than $3 million/year—and scale it up in the near future. 

This is an opportunity lead strategic planning and execution for a dynamic nonprofit organization that’s gone from an idea to a national leader in two years. We have the building blocks of a fundraising dynamo in place—we’re looking for the architect and general contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a national fundraising plan that exceeds our annual budget and sets us on a runway for rapid growth. 
  • Initiate, cultivate, manage and steward relationships with ACE’s portfolio of foundation, corporate and individual donors.
  • Develop creative, results-driven initiatives and campaigns that motivate funders and staff.
  • Strategically leverage the time of our executive team to exceed fundraising targets, with a focus on developing Board capacity.
  • Mentor and manage development team.
  • Prepare high-impact proposals, grant reports and donor communications; surpass goals for fundraising events; plan and implement the annual appeal.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate  and partnership engagement strategy, including sponsorship opportunities for ACE programs and campaigns.
  • Design and lead regional development strategies in ACE’s ten regions nationwide.
  • Oversee financial reporting, maintaining accurate accounting of all income and donor acknowledgement.
  • Lead special projects as needed; including an already robust and effective suite of strategic partnerships.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success building and leading fundraising in fast-paced, entrepreneurial nonprofit organizations; experience with national, multi-site organizations preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience designing and implementing comprehensive data-driven fundraising plans for all funding streams, including major gifts, corporate, foundation and annual giving.
  • Track record of raising $2M+ annually.
  • Proven leadership in driving strategy, management and organizational success.
  • Overflowing Rolodex of funders, foundations, corporate partners, connectors, partners, door-openers, corporations, soft-sounders, reference points. Environmental and education contacts ideal.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Intellectual agility, high professional standards, and demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute on multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Intimate knowledge of government funding structures and capital campaigns a plus.
  • PC/Mac/Microsoft/Google Apps/Salesforce.com fluency.
