Borrego Solar Systems, Inc an established and rapidly growing, EPC, IPP, and PPA solar energy company, seeks a Design and Product Standards Engineer in our Lowell, MA office.
About the position:
The primary purpose of this position is to work with our Chief Technology Officer and Director of Technology to accelerate project velocity, reduce system cost, and ensure quality within the organization. The primary responsibility of this position will be on the standardization and optimization of our product lines, the development and documentation of design and product engineering standards, and the implementation of quality assurance, quality control and better training.

Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science or other related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the PV industry with a thorough understanding of PV system design
• Strong understanding of module and inverter technology, racking systems, combiner boxes, and DAS
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills with emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce.com, and AutoCAD
• Experience reading, marking up and working off blueprints and specifications
• Ability to think quantitatively extremely efficiently and accurately
• Highly detailed and thorough individual with the proven ability to work in teams and individually to complete projects
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• NABCEP Professional Level Certification
• Working knowledge of the NEC code and AC and DC electrical systems
• Working knowledge of Uniform Building Codes
• Construction or solar pv installation experience
