Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage, coach, and supervise the Design & Engineering team
  • Manager hiring, evaluation, and performance of team
  • Be responsible for team and individual output defined by Key Performance Indicators
  • Lead process flow improvements, group innovation, and overall design and permitting efficiencies with a focus on automation and an outstanding customer experience, both internal and external.
  • Ensure ongoing training, skill development and continuous team/individual improvement.
  • Work with Operations teams to create efficiencies in the design process, excellent communication around installation projects, and solve issues before they become problems. 
  • Provide team with experience and knowledge on "constructability" of residential solar projects and code compliance.
  • Review all completed plan sets before they are sent to installers.

 
Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years experience in solar construction, engineering, or design. 
  • In-depth knowledge of residential grid tied PV installations including standard components, wiring configurations, as well as mechanical details such as attachments, racking, and waterproofing.
  • Experience working with city/county permitting offices and inspectors.
  • Minimum 3 years team management experience.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of solar plan set review.
  • Certified electrician, C-10 license a plus.
  • NABCEP Certified a strong plus.
  • Must have strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
  • Must be a strong creative leader, possessing a confident personality with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, goal setting, and process improvements
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment with a passion for changing the world through solar photovoltaics.
