Design and Engineering Specialist

Talent aside, our company ethos is truly reflected by the collaborative and inspired chemistry we share Position The Design and Engineering specialist is operationally responsible for evaluating site conditions through multiple inputs, identifying system constraints and advising on technical solutions to mitigate obstacles, and deliver PV systems as desired to our customer base. Functionally responsible for permit and install ready plan sets, the successful DAE candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi task in a high volume, high quality atmosphere where customers come first, and code compliance is a paramount objective. This position is in our Oakland office, no relocation provided. Responsibilities • Analyze existing conditions to confirm photovoltaic system compatibility • Design residential photovoltaic systems electrical and mechanical using multiple sources of information • Create and format drawing sets used for permitting and installation • Complete Bill of Materials for project components • Communicate with AHJ and Utility as needed to determine design requirements, and implement. • Communicate with other departments within Sungevity in order to complete designs Requirements • At least 6 months of AutoCAD (2D) experience/usage • Detail oriented and focused on automation • Organized and able to multi task under tight deadlines • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team • Knowledge of NEC preferred • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred • Entry level NABCEP and/ or ability to sit for professional exam within 8 months preferred • Good working knowledge of MS Office package, with specifc emphasis on MS Excel. • Basic knowledge of Google Earth • Experience with Customer Relationship Management softeware a+ • Experience with Geographical Informational Systems a+ • Experience building wiki pages a++ • PV design and permitting experience preferred Sungevity is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and strongly supports diversity in the workplace.
