Desert Ecologist - Middle East

Desert restoration and monitoring; Fluent in English - 

Ecology and Environment, Inc. is a fully-integrated environmental consulting firm whose underlying philosophy is its worldwide commitment to supporting sustainable development through responsible environmental stewardship.  We are seeking a Desert Ecologist to support our Middle East operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct native/desert plant and desert ecology studies of arid lands
• Provide supervision and guidance for desert ecosystems restoration and monitoring
• Compliance with regulatory bodies and permitting
• Assist in the resolution of problems that arise on desert restoration projects
• Data collection, analysis and report writing

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or closely-related field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in desert restoration and restoration monitoring
• Fluency in English required
• Appropriate certifications preferred
• GIS experience preferred
• Excellent self-leadership, interpersonal communication skills, and cultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and tactfully interact with individuals
• Demonstrated ability with client relationship management and consultation
• Ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules to meet business needs
• Ability to work in the Middle East for a minimum of one year
