The Deputy Director provides high level support to the Director, particularly in program management, strategic planning and policy development. The role deputises for the Director, including executing appropriate delegations and authority in his absence and representing the Director and Botanic Gardens at state, national and international forums as required. The Deputy Director manages governance and support for the Board and strategic communications across the Botanic Gardens and Departmental senior management. The Deputy Director also manages the South Australian Seed Conservation Centre and provides high level managerial, botanical and horticultural input to development of the Botanic Gardens living collections policy and directions.
